Gluten free a year and gained 20lbs

by KELLIE
(OHIO)

I have been eating gluten free for a year, probably 100% for the last 6 months.

As soon as the weight started coming back on I began to exercise. I had lost a lot of muscle when i broke my leg due to anemia from the celiac (just months from my diagnosis) so it was a tough road.

In the last three months i went from excercise of 30 min a day/ three days a week, weights and yoga twice a week, to cardio 50min/ 5 times a week and yoga twice.

I eat only salads, nuts, rice, fish, chicken, fruits and veggies, i gave up sweets and cut back on dairy even my lactose free milk and i am still gaining weight and i am getting so down, I do not know what else to try?

Hi, I did the same thing when I went GF 2 years ago. Just eat small meals and exercise. I am finally getting back to my normal weight.

The body was starved of nutrients, because of the celiac and malabsorption, and so you're body is storing the weight and you're actually getting the nutrients in your body.
