Gluten free bread in the UK

by andrew kimble
(leighton buzard uk)

Can anyone point me in the direction of decent gf bread. Everything I have found seems to fall to bits before I can eat it.

I have been diagnosed 8 weeks, and am struggling not to go into depression.

Also is it possible to get gf homebrew kits.

Thank you if you read this and can help.

Juvela bread rolls & Glutafin bread
by: Jenny

Hi Andrew,
Most people I know try the Genius loaf, it is very good and I enjoy it, although I find it somewhat holey!

Once I saw my dietician she gave me a 'welcome pack' for want of a term, and I sent off for the free sample packs from both Glutafin and Juvela. There are lots of items contained in there, but I find for sandwiches or toast, the bread is just fine and the bread rolls (I buy the part baked ones) are lovely, especially just out of the oven...yum yum yum.

You can get both of these on prescription, and the best part with the rolls you don't have a minimum number (where as you do with bread).

Hope this helps, good luck

Genius bread
by: Anonymous

Have you tried the Genius bread that is now available in Tesco's? It is light, fluffy and makes wonderful untoasted sandwiches.
