Gluten free options in Canada

Can I have some advice please... I am traveling to Canada with a friend who has wheat allergies and I need to be able to buy stuff in the local Safeway market in Vernon Canada.

Does anyone know some Gluten free products they might have.... like Tamari sauce instead of Soy sauce ???

I heard that a lot of things are made from Corn starch which should be OK but I am worried that I may not have a lot of options. Should she bring some of her own Gluten free products from Australia??
