Gluten free rice pudding

I use left over rice from dinner and make a simple rice pudding. In a sauce pan, I heat a cup or so of milk and add a little vanilla and a tablespoon of sugar. I then add cold rice from dinner and a pat of butter. I heat till it is hot and has thickened a little. My husband and kids love it. Now, I make rice the night before so I have it ready to make for breakfast.
