I might be gluten intolerant

Hi everyone

I am a Norwegian in California, I have lived here for soon 3 years now. I am 57 years young and all my life had problems with bloating, heartburn and stomach pain.

I have been in close contact with several different doctors all my life but none of them ever mentioned gluten intolerance.

Wednesday evening at church a friend mentioned this to me after we had talked about my stomach problems.

Today I have been thinking back and after reading the symptoms online on several sites, I can see that I'm reading about myself. My immune system is of small cuts that get easily infected. Constant diarrhea, bloated, gas/air cramps, weakness, fatigue and no energy. Thinking back I believe I had all of these symptoms since 1990, I have had gastroscopy several times back in Norway.

The last couple of years it have been getting worse.

While I'm writing this, I think of what I have been eating the last couple of days and I have read what they contain, wheat.

So from this day I'm going on a gluten free diet to see if this is the case for me.

I want to first reward you for getting tests done a few years ago.

I have always been lactose free b/c of allergy symptoms and then at age 18 I kept getting horrible symptoms that progressed further.

So back in those days :) they didn't know much about gluten and diagnosed me wheat free.

I began the gluten free diet and have been ever since with splurging every now and again.

I recently began symptoms again but amplified! I have no energy, bloated, abnormal stools and many other complications. I am still waiting on results from the doctor, they said it could be celiac and crones, waiting on results.

However, from my experience I would get diagnosed before you begin gluten free, save yourself time and agony in the long run.

I started the diet on my own and had something serious that was related but not it and effect me in the future. I wish you the best of luck and hope you can find a diagnosis. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me anytime about foods or whatever at melanie_molz@yahoo.com.

Hi
I just want to tell you all that after one day on gluten free food I feel soo much better.

For the first time in years I dont feel that bloated. I did not get my heartburn problems in the evning. My stomach doesn't feel that upset.

I am going to read more about gluten free diet and find some recipes.

I remember reading about Daniel in my bible.

"Please test your servants for ten days and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink"

When the king came and saw them he could see with his own eyes that they all 4 looked healthier and was able to answer all the kings questions better than thos who had been on the kings diet.

So they might have know something already back then.
