nervous about gf/cf diet

i havent even looked at the tip of the iceberg through a pair of high powered specs yet and already feel so overwhelmed!

We are starting my youngest on a gluten/casein free lifestyle on the recommendation of his therapist; I had NO idea how hard this would be!

I thought at first, no big deal, we already try and eat non-processed foods anyway; then you find out that some of the stuff you THOUGHT was good for your kid is, in fact, not. Frustration? Yes. Sudden food store phobia? Yes. Annoyed family members who dont understand the issues? Oh yes. The sad look on you childs face when they learn they cant have 'that' anymore? Heartbreakingly yes.

So as I fall into the abyss of shopping H3!!, I tell myself I can do this, I am a Mom after all and there is nothing more important then making sure he has the opportunity to succeed, even if it means turning our regular eating on its ear, right?

So I start my search on the internet - like I am sure so many others have done - and suddenly my Super Mom cape gets a giant hole in it and I go spiraling to the ground at record speed. Trying to find a decent site that doesn't require me to fork over the small amount of change in my pocket and my first born just to get a suitable shopping list seems more like a pipe dream then reality. To top it off, finding recipes that i know my picky bunch will eat has been a complete let down as well - if i was raising rabbits i would be set.

I found this site and have really felt like this person has taken time to let us know we are not alone, there is plenty of information about different types of foods I know I can use and recipe links that my family might not bury in the back yard; so I, excitely so, am looking forward to setting about on the shopping trip I have planned for tomorrow.

Thank you for having this site available to the masses and for free!
