Sorghum Beer

St Peter's New Gluten Free Sorghum Beer

St Peter's Sorghum Beer is a gluten-free beer imported from the UK and distributed nationwide by Eurobrew Inc. It is made of sorghum, not barley and is thus suitable for consumption by celiacs. St Peter’s is a clean, crisp gluten-free ale with a pilsner style lager finish and aromas of citrus and mandarin from American Amarillo hops. The ABV is 4.2% and the beer will be supplied in the famous St. Peter's 500ml flask. It has even received approval from Celiac UK, the charity for people with celiac disease, to carry their logo and license.

At the annual tasting of Gluten Free beers held in Derbyshire, in July 2007, over 40 tasters, regular gluten free beer drinkers as well as beer enthusiasts who drink a repertoire of beers and ales, sampled gluten free beers from 16 brewers based throughout Europe. The beers were tasted blind and this beer was praised for its excellent flavour and drinkability from across the range of tasters.

St Peter's Sorghum Beer has then been commercialized in the UK in August 2007. We have been impressed by its quality and we have been working with the brewery since to make it available in the US. We are confident that this would make a nice and refreshing beer compatible with a gluten-free diet.
